Massimo Izzo was born in Messina on March 10th 1966. He enrolled in the School of Art in Syracuse, metalworking and goldsmith department, where he learned the fundamentals of goldsmithry under the expert guidance of his first teacher Salvatore Canigiula. In 1987 he opened his first goldsmith workshop in downtown Syracuse. In 2000-2002 Massimo collaborated with the world of fashion and entertainment: he crafted jewelry for the movie “Malena” with Monica Bellucci direct by the Academy Award winner Giuseppe Tornatore and in 2005 he was awarded the “Craftmanship Award 2005” by the Kiwanis Club of Syracuse.
