Milagros Monforte is a student of the Mexican academy Hard to Find. This brooch is inspired by the female Japanese divers famous for collecting pearls, who endure harsh conditions while diving. “Ama” ( 海女) or “Women of the sea” have been diving in Japan for 2,000 o 3,000 years. For its elaboration she used Peruvian silver and a Japanese pearl – a perfect match that allow Milagros to recreate the fragility and the strength of such amazing women: this is her tribute to them.
