During the exhibition will be presented the jewels of various projects that have been developed in recent years by Ognyana Teneva. The combination of unconventional materials and classic silversmiths characterizes his creations. The designer focuses on emphasizing the ever-growing concern about how plastic, such as packaging, is used on a daily basis. Through jewels, the Designer aims to challenge the boundaries between temporary and timeless, as well as how contemporary understanding changes their definition. Alternative ways were sought to give materials a second life. By studying the physical properties of plastic, the artist discovered its ability to transform its appearance and body. The object, built from models of modules, unfolds in forms of new composition. The final piece gives the feeling of a living being with rigidity and architectural form.
About Ognyana Teneva
Born in 1985 in Bulgaria. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design from Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”, Ognyana Teneva moved to Belgium to continue my studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. During her studies, she discovered my interest in jewelry and accessory making. Thus she focused my work on exploring the possibilities of art jewelry and further experimenting in this field.
