GALLERIA ANNA MARIA CONSADORI | Via Brera 2, Milano
24th – 27th October 2019 | 10 am – 1 pm | 3 pm – 7 pm
Didier Ltd is a unique gallery founded in 2006 by Didier and Martine Haspeslagh, specialised in jewelry designed by leading modern artists. The gallery has been instrumental in increasing the appreciation for contemporary jewelry and it is delighted to be taking part in Milano Jewelry Week bringing a curated selection of jewels created by ten internationally-renowned Italian artists of the Rome School, including Afro Basaldella, Franco Cannilla, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Nina Franchina, Edgardo Mannucci, Gino Severini, and Giuseppe Uncini, made first for Mario Masenza and later Danilo and Masssimo Fumanti from the late 1940s to early 1970s. These unique jewels were destined to be worn by the glamorous sirens of the Dolce Vita in Rome, the actresses working in Cinecittà, including Elizabeth Taylor, and wealthy Americans visiting the Eternal City. In addition, the gallery will also exhibit a few jewels by the great Italian sculptors Arnaldo Pomodoro and his brother Giò, who were also instrumental in encouraging other artists to create jewels including Lucio Fontana here in Milan.
