Mara Colecchia was born in the seventies in Urbino, an art town in mid Italy, and she has been fascinated with art and crafts since the early age, experimenting with many different medium and techniques. In 2005 she earned a master degree from IED Rome, and she had many artistic pursuits since then, till she moved to Los Angeles, where she started designing wearable art for fashion editorials. In 2018 she created Maracole Bijoux, a line of artistic fashion jewelry inspired by ethnic ornaments and vintage bijoux.
