Antonio Paradiso was born in Santeramo (Bari) in 1936. He lives and works between Milan and Matera. He studied sculpture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan with Marino Marini. His sculptures and installations have been presented at: Biennale, Venice (1978), Palazzo Reale, Milan (1980, 1999, 2011), Art Basel, Basel (1973, 1984, 1985), Kunstmuseum, Helsinki (1975), Fotomedia, New York (1974), Museum am Ostwall, Dortmund (1974), Santa Monica Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara (1987), Ruine der Kunst, Berlin (1988), Lilljevalchs Kunsthall, Stockholm (1991), Fondazione Mudima, Milan (1990, 2000, 2004), PAC, Milan (2002), XIV Quadrennial, Rome (2005). In 2000 Paradiso founded the La Palomba Sculpture Park in Matera, an archaeological site and former tuff quarry within the park of the Rock Churches, where he exhibited in 2000, 2013, 2014, 2016.
