Have you ever thought of creating a jewel with your own hands, starting from beeswax?
CosMonique Gioielli has decided to participate in the Milan Jewelry Week 2022, offering a workshop in which you have the opportunity to get to work in person and have an unusual experience. The workshop will consist of the reaction of a jewel from our KYPSELI collection, starting from beeswax. Exactly, the same wax that is used in beekeeping for the grafting of hives, which will be modeled at will and then cast in metal, respecting the ancient rules of the lost wax casting technique. The idea is that anyone can try their hand and experiment, giving shape to their Kypséli jewelry, getting in touch with the lost wax technique, more closely. Subsequently CosMonique will take care of your jewel, after the metal casting and will finish and polish it and then return it / hand it back to the participant.
Kypsèli is not only a jewel to wear but also becomes an ethical message to convey; The waxy sheet is processed following the profile of the hexagonal cells that make it up, to maintain an immediate reference to the fascinating world of these insects, incredibly essential to the biodiversity of our planet. Once again, ample space is given to the continuous search for materials that give the jewel, as well as an interesting shape, a beating heart with particular attention to ethics and sustainability. Participants will therefore be able to create a pendant or a ring using an ancient goldsmith technique conjugated in an unusual way to beeswax. The wax result will then be cast in brass; for requests in specific precious metals, you can ask for a quote during the workshop.

From 20 to 24 October 2022 there will be 8 workshop sections which can be joined by booking, each session will host a maximum of 6 participants. So hurry up and book!
Material: the material will be entirely supplied by CosMonique Gioielli; if you wish, you can take a notebook with you.
Where: at the CosMonique Jewelery workshop in a private street Val Lavizzana, 10 – 20146, Milan (MM1 GAMBARA)
How it takes place: brief introductory part on the lost wax casting technique, explanation of the methodology used to create the “Kypseli” collection, practical and manual part of modeling beeswax for the creation of the prototype to be cast in metal.
In a second moment CosMonique Gioielli will take care of melting and polishing the jewels, which will then be returned to the participant as a finished jewel.
Costs: The cost of the workshop is 75.00 euros per participant, of materials and of the grinding and polishing labor by CosMonique Gioielli; the casting of the object will be in brass.
For any noble metal castings, it will be possible to request a quote on site, during the workshop.
