FRANCESCA MO FOR MJW

Exhibition
ALBERTO LEVI GALLERY |
Via S. Maurilio, 24 Milan
20-22 October 2022 | 10 am – 07 pm

On the occasion of the Milan Jewelry Week, Francesca Mo exhibits some of her jewels. Parallelepiped ice of every color make up necklaces and earrings. The supports, always in precious materials, are essential and minimal. The traces of the past, the roots, the heritage, are the watchwords of the Intrecci collection: small unique works with antique brocades or colored threads are contained within square-shaped boules. Tales: a collection born from the idea that each jewel is made up of individual pieces, which together create a story, or which can be chosen individually to imagine their own story. Different stories, therefore different materials to pair: bronze, silver, gold and colored plexiglass to set the story. Narcissus: the limited edition series of bronze sculpture rings. The story told here – through miniatures that interact with a mirroring surface – is that of Narcissus who, instead of being chastised by the gods, laboriously becomes victorious over himself.

About Francesca Mo

Milanese architect designer, she began by inventing jewels only through materials that contain a story within themselves. Glass pebbles worked by the sea, remnants of watches, sands, sheets of semi-precious stones. Her path as a setter was also transformed into that of a forger. Her jewels are tales, they do not have the power of the material but the balance between shape, color and play.
