A jewel allows, in its realization, the maximum expression of creativity and craftsmanship. A journey into precious metals and gems skilfully crafted and combined by expert hands, from pure primary ingredients to the finished jewel. Exhibition of a limited number of handcrafted pieces of high manufacturing, made with different and sophisticated traditional techniques of drawing, goldsmithing, fired enamel, engraving, setting, anticlastic, embossing and chisel and gemmology. All in the context of the Soalab & Factory: the workshop of the Ambrosian Goldsmith School where the students create their works and where these precious objects were born: surrounded by all the charm of the furnishings, equipment, tools and materials that helped to make them.

Are we really sure we are aware of what a jewel hides when we buy it? An incredible journey to the center of the jewel that will lead us to face one surprise after another in a world known to the public only in its outer bark and dark in the lifeblood that leads to its creation. Are we sure we know precious metals? Have we ever really seen them? Are they recognizable? Am I sure that the jewel I buy is what I think I am buying? But is all that glitters really gold? An important, intriguing, at times disturbing experience not only in the jewelry scene: a very useful “way to proceed” to understand whether our approach to knowing jewels, things and facts in general, is the most appropriate one.

A small group of students of the Ambrosian Goldsmith School, at your complete disposal, will accompany you in the best understanding of how a jewel is born and created: from pure metals to the final object, passing through a number of gestures and movements, the application of a large number of techniques and the use of an infinite number of tools and equipment. You will appreciate the extreme dexterity and talent of the students of the School while they are at work to create their works. You will breathe the atmosphere of a superbly equipped goldsmith’s workshop in an extremely airy and pleasant context, where rigor and serenity travel together to feed a limitless creativity that only domination over the precious metal can give. You will also have the opportunity to admire their creations and buy them.

About
The Ambrosian Goldsmith School was founded in 1995 in Milan by Luca Solari, with the aim of offering to all enthusiasts a training of the highest amateur and professional level: today it offers 23 different courses from the main ones to the more specialized ones, operating in close contact with the best-known companies in the sector, universities and foundations. With the support of Guido Solari, today the school has two teaching sites and a new-generation laboratory for students.
