Susana Barbosa was born in Porto in 1974 and has studied jewellery since 1990. In 1993 she concluded the professional course of goldsmiths in the artistic School of Soares dos Reis in Porto, graduate in Jewellery by the School of Arts and Design ESAD in Matosinhos and post-graduated in Jewellery Design by Glasgow School of Art. From 1997 to 2002 she collaborated as a jewellery designer with several companies in the business. In 1999 she opened one of the first jewellery galleries in Porto to “Galeria Darkroom”, where she exhibited works of her authorship and organized several individual and collective exhibitions.
