Milano Jewelry Week 2024
The international jewelry capital shines with awards, exhibitions, and new trends.
Milan, October 9th, 2024 – Milano Jewelry Week, proudly sponsored by CNA Artistico e Tradizionale, CNA Federmoda and Assogemme, is set to illuminate Milan from October 15th to 20th, 2024, offering an unparalleled showcase of the latest innovations in both Italian and international jewelry design. This year’s edition marks the 10th anniversary of Artistar Jewels, a significant milestone that underscores Milano Jewelry Week’s commitment to celebrating brands, artistry and craftsmanship in the jewelry world.
At the recent press conference held at the Sala Leonardo of the Worldhotel Cristoforo Colombo, organizers unveiled an exciting lineup of over 50 events designed to engage jewelry enthusiasts and industry experts alike. 350 exhibitors from 60 countries will present more than 8,000 pieces of jewelry across historic palaces, ateliers, showrooms, boutiques, and goldsmith workshops throughout Milan’s vibrant city center.
“I am incredibly proud of what Milano Jewelry Week has become since its inception in 2019. It has grown into a global event that not only elevates the jewelry industry but also invites enthusiasts and experts to discover and explore every facet of this dynamic art form,” stated Enzo Carbone, founder of Milano Jewelry Week and CEO of Prodes Italia. “This year we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Artistar Jewels; this milestone celebrates our journey and the collective effort of artists, designers, partners, and our dedicated team. We continue to strive for excellence, fostering innovation while honoring the rich traditions that define Milan as the jewelry capital.”
The event features key partnerships with esteemed organizations such as AOL (Associazione Orafa Lombarda), ACJ (Association for Contemporary Jewellery), HRD Antwerp, A.N.T.I.C.O. (Associazione Nazionale Tutela il Comparto Oro), Assamblage, and Scuola Orafa Galdus, alongside new collaborators Piazza Italia and INHORGENTA.
Exhibitions and Locations
Artistar Jewels returns to Palazzo Bovara with over 240 designers from 60 countries presenting more than 800 unique pieces. Special guests Chong Ho from Hong Kong and Angry from Italy will showcase exclusive collections, complemented by the digital presentation Awe & Alchemy by ACJ Northern Ireland and a curated capsule display by Harper’s Bazaar. This exhibition stands as a testament to the creative visions of both established and emerging talents in contemporary jewelry.
The Talent Show, in collaboration with the Scuola Orafa Galdus, will highlight the future of jewelry design by showcasing the creations of 80 emerging students from prestigious institutions around the world. These include: Algures Contemporary Jewellery School (Brazil), Assamblage Contemporary Jewellery School (Romania), CASA Workshop (Mexico), Academia de Orfebres (Mexico), British Higher School of Art & Design (Russia), Fondazione Arte Sacra Contemporanea ETS (Italy), For.AL S.c.a r.l. (Italy), Galdus (Italy), ISS Caterina da Siena (Italy), Istituto Europeo di Design IED (Italy), MAB (Italy), Minoss Jewelry (South Korea), Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana – UBI FERVOR by Guido Solari (Italy), Wytwórnia Antidotum (Poland), Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) (USA), and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (China). These students will present their innovative designs, offering a glimpse into the future of the jewelry industry.
Milano Jewelry Week will offer a series of immersive experiences through its Experiential Journeys, during which various local entities will open their doors to the public for unique activities and engaging exhibitions. These journeys will give visitors the opportunity to discover the charm of artisanal jewelry through interactive and performative experiences that celebrate creativity and technical skill.
Among the most exciting events is Studio Vualle | Via Carlo Pisacane, 3, which will host the performance “Scintilla di Vita” (Spark of Life), where visitors will be photographed before and after being adorned with jewelry. This unique experience aims to demonstrate how jewelry can transform individuality and ignite a spark of beauty and life. The event, designed to honor and empower women, carries a strong message that blends aesthetics with self-expression.
At BABS Art Gallery | Via Maurizio Gonzaga, 2, Faust Cardinali’s performative exhibition will also be presented as a live performance. The installation features a gutter through which polyvinyl liquid floats. The artist, by activating its flow, will use the dripping resin to create paintings on embossed aluminum panels.
Design Alchemy at Bagutta Art Gallery | Corso Garibaldi, 17 will host an exhibition dedicated to the power of female craftsmanship. Seven women who have a special connection to the world of jewelry will be showcased. They draw, model, knead, and photograph. They come from many different countries, and all are independent, creating together a unique and special alchemy.
At Sicis Jewels | Via della Spiga, 9, “The World of Micromosaic” will be presented, an immersive journey into the art of micromosaic, an ancient technique that Sicis has masterfully reinvented with modernity. Visitors will be able to admire how each piece, through meticulous processes and innovative techniques, is transformed into a vibrant and complex work of art, flawlessly blending tradition and innovation.
Finally, the experience at IPPOLITA | Via Monte Napoleone, 23 will offer the opportunity to discover the artisanal craftsmanship behind each piece of jewelry. Ippolita’s creations, characterized by wearable yet highly elegant designs, will be presented in a journey that highlights the technical mastery, from hand-soldered pieces to the fusion of precious materials, celebrating the fusion of contemporary style and high fashion.
Throughout the week, many of these unique experiences will take place in boutiques and ateliers across Milan, often accompanied by cocktail parties that foster moments of conviviality and connection. These events will be complemented by the new Milano Jewelry & Watches Heritage Tour, which will guide the curious through historic goldsmith and watchmaking boutiques, including Adamas Gioielli, Orologeria Gioielleria Sangalli dal 1900, Schreiber Gioielli and Villa Milano. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore renowned shops and jewelry workshops, hearing directly from the artisans about the stories and evolution of these iconic brands. The tour reveals Milan’s rich jewelry and watchmaking history, showcasing the art and dedication behind each creation in their authentic context.
The Jewelry HUB at La Pelota offers a unique, four-day event where collectors, buyers, and enthusiasts can discover and purchase exclusive jewelry from 70 international brands, showcasing over 2,000 pieces of high and fine jewelry, fashion, vintage, watches, and diamonds. Set in Milan’s Brera district, this curated showcase combines modern design with timeless craftsmanship, providing a rare opportunity to buy unique creations from global designers. Visitors can engage with the creators, explore the latest trends, and experience the vibrant energy of this international jewelry hub.
