Born in Rome on 7 March 1900, he graduated in Law and has always dedicated himself to painting. In 1923 he attended the Free School of Nude by Felice Carena and between 1927 and 1933 he travelled several times to Paris where he developed a figurative and tonal painting that linked to classical Italian sources. He exhibited for the first time in 1927 in a group exhibition at the Dinesen Pension in Rome. From the early Forties he began a transformation of his pictorial research: the color lights up in the ranges of reds, purples and oranges, and the brushstroke comes to life. He died in Rome on 9 October 1972.
