Celebrating Tina Modotti’s 100 years arrival to Mexico during postrevolution times, the inspiration emerged from Tina Modotti’s look, through her diligent and sensitive lens. This collection narrates her story through three series and one in particular inspired by the graphic novel, “Modotti una mujer del siglo XX” by Ángel de la Calle. Each piece is made with materials she captured in her photos: cotton, maguey fiber, wool, silver and with contemporary materials such as acrylic, camera filters, silk and taffeta which talk about the nature of her own being.The three series talk about three periods of time: Herself: her beauty beyond her body. Her camera: the revelation of everyday life. Her political commitment: her own look at social issues, poverty, the depth of vulnerability. Echoing loudly all women, to strongly say, with each piece: “We Are All Tina.”

About Galleria Rubin
From the onset the gallery focused on contemporary painting and sculpture , from Italy and abroad. Many young artists were discovered and launched in the course of the last two decades, and some of these have become prominent on the international art scene.
