BASTIONI DI PORTA VENEZIA | Corso di Porta Venezia 63 Milano
24th – 27th October 2019 | 10 am – 6 pm
Carnivorous is the new Spring Summer 2020 collection that Gianni De Benedittis will present for the first time during Milano Jewelry Week 2019. The collection is inspired by carnivorous plants, given the strong attraction of the designer in creating with curiosity and fun jewels characterized by volumes and unusual lines existing in nature. The pieces in the collection, all in silver, gold and precious stones, made with the lost-wax casting technique, are as visionary as they are representative of our contemporaneity. Gianni De Benedittis, launched by Artistar Jewels 2017 and after having been present on more than one occasion at Milan Fashion Week, proposes himself as a special guest at Milano Jewelry Week.
ABOUT BASTIONI DI PORTA VENEZIA
In 1600 the Porta Orientale (today Porta Venezia) was placed to the north in the walls of the Spanish walls that had been built between 1548 and 1562, by order of Ferrante I Gonzaga, at the time governor of the city for Carlo V. The perimeter of the walls extended for about eleven kilometers and was protected by a mighty wall with towers and lunettes connected by bastions. The tract, which today we know with the name of Bastioni di Porta Venezia, was then called Bastioni di San Dionigi.
