Mena Stelitano, a goldsmith artist since 1980, practices the activity of artistic research by working with different modes of language, creating jewelry, microsculptures and graphic works. Nature has always inspired the morphologies, the proliferations and the developments of its soft design that privileges the uniqueness of the handmade and the unrepeatability of the unique piece. In addition to metals such as silver and bronze, often recycled, nature also directly takes the constituent materials of its creations as stones and woods. This is how the VERDE SOSTENIBILE collection was born, on display at the artist’s studio for Milano Jewelry Week. On the subject of sustainability, it will also be possible, in all the days of the event, to taste products from sustainable agriculture, in perfect harmony with the materials of the atelier jewels.
ABOUT FILOMENA STELITANO
Mena (Filomena Antonia) Stelitano was born in Melito di Porto Salvo (RC) in 1962. She is professor of engraving techniques – Art Graphics at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and Jewelry Design. In 2004 she founded and is now directing the diffuse environmental museum MAV (Museo Agata Viglianti) realizing integrations between contemporary art, jewelery, archeology, training, landscape, enology.
